(Des Moines, IA) -- Not all agricultural experts are in agreement with predictions of of a record-breaking corn harvest in the state this fall.
Last week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued a prediction that this year's corn harvest in the Midwest will be the largest-ever recorded.
But, Iowa State University agronomist Meaghan Anderson says high winds, hail, and plant disease challenges due to excessive rain in July are likely to upend that prediction.
Anderson says central Iowa corn yields in particular certainly won't meet USDA expectations.
