The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is asking for a five-year extension for a state substance use prevention program.
The Substance Use Disorder Demonstration Program gives Medicaid recipients between the ages of 21 and 64 coverage for short-term stays in mental disease institutions.
If approved, the program will get funding until June 2030.
The department will meet tomorrow morning to discuss the extension.
