Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies Recognized For Bravery

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office recognizes two Deputies, who saved a woman from a burning car.

On Facebook, the Sheriff said on Sunday morning, Deputies Plath and Pigsley committed an act of true bravery and selflessness.

While responding to a crash, they arrived to find a vehicle fully engulfed in fire, with a woman trapped inside.

Without hesitation and risking their own lives, Deputy Pigsley used a fire extinguisher while Deputy Plath pulled the woman to safety, just moments before the fire fully consumed the vehicle.

The Facebook post says, "Thanks to their quick thinking and courageous actions, a life was saved. Deputies Plath and Pigley's actions are a powerful reminder of the risks our deputies take every day to protect and serve our community. We are proud to have such dedicated and fearless professionals among our ranks."
