Omaha Fire Investigators say a fire in a west Omaha apartment was accidentally caused by a problem with a water heater.
There were no injuries in the fire in the six o'clock hour Monday morning at 157th and William Ct., south of Pacific.
Arriving firefighters were met by the resident, who told them she smelled smoke, and the smoke detectors started going off in her unit.
Firefighters at first saw no signs of fire, but upon entering the structure found heavy smoke.
They quickly extinguished a fire in the utility closet.
The fire was contained to the single unit.
