Omaha Apartment Fire Accidentally Caused

Omaha Fire Investigators say a fire in a southwest Omaha apartment building, accidentally caused by unattended food left on a stove, caused 120-thousand dollars in damage and displaced three families.

There were no injuries in the fire Wednesday evening near 86th and Q Streets.

Investigators say the fire was contained to a single apartment unit and was brought under control in about 20 minutes, but a total of three units were affected.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to those affected.
