The Meteorologists at the Omaha National Weather Service Office in Valley say the warmest temperatures of the year are in the forecast Friday through the weekend, leading to major heat risk.
They say it will feel like 100-110 in the shade this weekend.
An Extreme Heat Watch will be in effect from Friday morning through Sunday evening.
The watch is for east central, southeast, and northeast Nebraska, along with southwest and west central Iowa.
It includes Omaha/Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
