Salvation Army Opens Several Cooling Centers for Weekend Heat Wave

(Omaha, NE) -- The Salvation Army of Omaha is opening several cooling centers at select locations in preparation for this weekend’s expected heat wave. According to the National Weather Service, an extreme heat wave is expected from Friday through Sunday.

The cooling centers will offer air-conditioned spaces and cold bottled water. They will be open during regular business hours.

North Corps 2424 Pratt St.

8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday 6/20

Heritage Place at Renaissance Village 3612 Cuming St.

8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday 6/20

Kroc Center Omaha 2825 Y St. 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Friday 6/20

8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday 6/21
