Under Nebraska law, a grand jury will investigate after an inmate was found unresponsive Wednesday morning in his medical unit cell at Douglas County Corrections after being in custody for eight hours.
County Corrections says 54-year-old Edward Henry was found around 2:30 a.m., and, after life-saving efforts from staff and Omaha Fire and Rescue, was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
He was jailed for burglary, driving under suspension, and obstruction.
