The Iowa House of Representatives has secured enough signatures to call a special legislative session, in an attempt to override the Governor's veto of House File 639.

The bill would've prevented private land being taken by eminent domain for carbon capture pipelines.

House Republicans says 70 signatures were secured, surpassing the two-thirds requirement in the Iowa Constitution for the House to call a special session.

Two-thirds of the Iowa Senate must now also agree to sign on call a special session.
