Nebraska to Receive Nearly $20 Million in Purdue Pharma Opioid Settlement

(LINCOLN, NE) -- Nebraska will receive up to $19.7 million as part of a $7.4 billion nationwide settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family, Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced Monday.

The settlement resolves lawsuits over the company’s role in the opioid crisis and ends the Sacklers’ control of Purdue and ability to sell opioids in the U.S. All 55 eligible states and territories have signed on to the agreement.

Most of Nebraska’s share will be paid in the first three years.
