(NORTH PLATTE, NE) -- The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers arrested an Illinois man wanted in connection with a Chicago homicide investigation.
NSP says Wednesday afternoon, they were alerted that a homicide suspect was believed to be traveling through Nebraska, driving a semi.
Troopers were able to find the specific semi just after it had exited I-80 near North Platte and parked at a business south of the interstate.
Troopers then arrested the driver, 34-year old Essian McGinnis of Tinley Park, Illinois, without incident.
He was taken to the Lincoln County Jail on an active warrant for homicide issued in Cook County Illinois.
The Nebraska State Patrol is working with the United States Marshals Service and Chicago Police on this case.
