(OMAHA, NE) -- Nebraska State Senator John Cavanaugh announced Wednesday he is running for Congress in the state’s 2nd District.
The seat is currently held by Republican Don Bacon, who has not yet announced his plans for 2026. Another Democratic candidate, Denise Powell, entered the race in May.
Cavanaugh plans to officially launch his campaign at an event on June 25 in Omaha.
