(Tecumseh, Neb.) – The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says an inmate has died.

Corrections says 78-year old Nicholas Bailey died Wednesday at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.

Bailey’s sentence began on May 16th, 2016: 25 to 45 years out of Lancaster County for two counts of sexual assault of a child.

While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Corrections says Bailey was being treated for a medical condition.

As is the case whenever an inmate dies in law enforcement custody, a grand jury will investigate, which is state law.
