Omaha Arts Organizations Lose Promised Federal Grant Funding

(OMAHA, NE) -- Several Omaha-area arts organizations will not receive expected federal grant money after recent notifications from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Officials report the grant losses will affect arts programming in both urban and rural schools. Groups including WhyArts and Film Streams say the canceled funding was intended to support educational programs for local students.

The organizations are now looking for alternative funding sources to continue their work.
