NSP Warns of Counterfeit Pills After Recent Overdoses South of North Platte

(McCOOK, NE) -- The Nebraska State Patrol is warning residents after two recent overdose cases in towns south of North Platte.

NSP believes the overdoses involved counterfeit pills containing synthetic opioids. The cases occurred in McCook and Culbertson, with one resulting in the death of a 22-year-old woman. Authorities say the pills look like legitimate prescription medication but can be deadly even in small amounts.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Nebraska State Patrol.
