Iowa Ranked Worst State Economy in the U.S., According to WalletHub Report

(Iowa) -- Iowa is ranked as the worst state economy in the U.S., according to a new report from WalletHub.

The study evaluated all 50 states and Washington, D.C., across 28 categories, including GDP growth, unemployment rate, and startup activity. Iowa ranked 51st overall, with a total score of 31.61. Iowa ranked 50th overall in change in GDP, 50th in Change in Nonfarm Payrolls, and 51st in Startup activity. Iowa did rank 29th overall in innovation potential. Massachusetts, Utah, and Washington ranked in the top three.
