Iowa National Guard Troops Set to Deploy to the Middle East This Week

(Iowa) -- The Iowa National Guard is holding two dozen send-off ceremonies across the state in honor of the nearly 1,800 soldiers deploying to the Middle East.

The soldiers are deploying in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, an international military coalition designed to defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

The ceremonies start Wednesday afternoon and run through Friday.
