(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is signing another one of her 2025 priorities into law. Dubbed by Reynolds as the "Families First Act," House File 889 gives state employees paid family leave time. It gives them four weeks of paid maternity leave and one week of paternity leave. It also provides four weeks for employees who choose to adopt. Iowa is becoming the 42nd state in the country to add the provisions. Governor Reynolds has until June 14th to act on any other remaining bills.
