The attempt to override the Governor's veto of Nebraska's bed bug bill has failed in the Legislature.
LB 287 would have required inspections and reports every six months to eliminate bed bug and other infestations in public housing.
The bill follows a class-action lawsuit filed by residents of public housing areas in Omaha.
It was passed, but then vetoed last week by Governor Pillen, who argued the bill is redundant because municipalities already have the authority to conduct inspections and exterminations.
