The Douglas County Sheriff's Office makes an arrest in connection with the original firearms investigation early Thursday in Omaha that led to a fatal Deputy-involved shooting.

Investigators say Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies, with the assistance of the Fremont Police Department, served a warrant in Dodge County and arrested 18-year -old Samuel Guy for unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Juvenile Offender.

The investigation shows Guy had previously been in possession of one of the two firearms recovered from a vehicle at the time of the Deputy- involved shooting at 48th and Pratt.

Investigators do not believe, at this point, that Guy was one of the individuals in or near the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

DCSO investigators continue to ask for the public’s assistance in identifying the parties who fled from the vehicle during that incident or any other potential witnesses who may have information related to the investigation.
