Nebraska Boy Receives Rare Partial Heart Transplant

(OMAHA, NE) -- A 4-year-old Nebraska boy is home recovering after becoming the 35th person in the world to receive a partial heart transplant.

Andrew Grundman underwent the procedure at Duke University to treat a severe congenital heart defect. The family returned to Omaha over the weekend thanks to an anonymous donor who arranged a private flight.

Andrew is already back to playing and riding his bike, and his parents say the transplant may prevent future open-heart surgeries.
