In a bench trial, a Douglas County District Court Judge rules the man accused of shooting and killing Chris Gradoville in 2021 is not guilty by reason of insanity on all counts.
Ladell Thornton had faced charges of first-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and possession of a gun by a prohibited person.
37-year-old Chris Gradoville, who had a stellar baseball career at Creighton University and was then on the coaching staff as Director of Operations, was found shot to death at 61st and Pratt Streets.
Investigators say Thornton had rented the house at the Pratt Street address from Gradoville.
