All Elite Wrestling star Darby Allin successfully reached Mount Everest's summit on Sunday (May 18).
"Mount Everest summit," Allin wrote in the caption of a photo of himself and his climbing team planting the AEW flag at the summit of the world's highest mountain. "What a ride thanks @aew for everything in life. Thanks to the amazing team at adventure consultants and the Sherpa squad this s**t was wild!"
Allin, 32, was the only first-time climber among the team, which began its ascension up the Earth's highest mountain in April. The former TNT champion has gained notoriety for daredevil stunts both in and out of the wrestling ring, which included breaking the world record for landing a kickflip at 20,958 feet, the highest elevation for the skateboard trick, during his Everest climb earlier this month.
Allin is expected to make his return to AEW television soon after he and his team climb down the mountain. The wrestler was expected to return in time for the beginning of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament last month, however, faced delays in the preparations for his Mt. Everest climb, which further postponed his return.
Allin was written off television ahead of his Everest climb after being thrown down a flight of stairs by AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and his group 'The Deathriders' in December. The Owen Hart Cup will conclude with a final matchup between Will Ospreay and 'Hangman' Adam Page at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view event on Sunday (May 25) to determine the No. 1 contender for the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas on July 12.
