(Omaha, NE) -- A Friday evening dinner crowd was evacuated from a restaurant in the Dundee area of Omaha. Firefighters arriving at Pitch, near 50th and Underwood Avenue, observed significant smoke coming from the roof area.
“When they got up there and started investigating, it was the vents from the restaurant portion of the building. So it's going to be an accidental fire caused by the vent system, and we were able to get it extinguished with minimal damage to the building,” said Battalion Chief Rob McEvoy.
There were no injuries reported. However, the county health department will need to conduct an inspection before the restaurant can reopen.
