(OMAHA, NE) - The University of Nebraska Omaha has announced that world champion boxer and Omaha native Terence “Bud” Crawford will speak at Friday’s commencement ceremonies.
Crawford will address graduates at both the 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. ceremonies at Baxter Arena. He will also receive the university’s Spirit of the Maverick Award during the afternoon event.
In addition to his boxing career, Crawford co-founded the B&B Sports Academy, a nonprofit offering free fitness and boxing programs to youth in Omaha.
