Terminally Ill Man Visits Omaha as Part of 50-State Volunteer Mission

(Omaha, NE) -- A Texas man with terminal cancer is volunteering in all 50 states and recently stopped in Omaha.

Doug Ruch, from San Antonio, launched the effort, called "Dying to Serve," after learning he had just months to live. Nebraska marked his 18th state, where he packed food at Food Bank for the Heartland. Ruch says the experience has changed his outlook, and he hopes to continue his journey through the Midwest.
