Shots Fired At Carter Lake Near Mabrey Park

(Carter Lake, IA) — The Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office responded to multiple reports of gunfire near Mabrey Park on Friday evening. Authorities say approximately 20 to 30 shots were fired while around 50 people were gathered in the park.

A vehicle and a nearby house were struck by the gunfire. One individual sustained minor injuries from broken glass. Law enforcement officers recovered spent shell casings at the scene.

The Iowa State Patrol and the Carter Lake Police Department also responded and assisted in securing the area. The investigation is ongoing.
