First Republican Files in 2026 Iowa State Auditor Race

(Des Moines, IA) -- The first Republican interested in running for state auditor in 2026 has filed the paperwork. Current Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer is entering the race for the statewide seat, which is currently held by Democrat Rob Sand. The news comes after Governor Kim Reynolds announced she will not seek re-election.
