(Omaha, NE) -- More changes could be coming to the campus of the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Last week, the Board of Regents approved an intermediate design report for Project Health. This report outlines progress on the design of a potential project, and the approval at this stage opens the doors for utility systems, water and drainage system installation, site excavation and pre-construction work for heavy building components like elevator shafts. According to Grow Omaha's Trenton Magid, his co-host spotted construction equipment on the site. The new building is planned for land already owned by the hospital system, near 44th St. and Dewey Avenue. It's a plot previously occupied by the Munroe-Meyer Institute. UNMC says this building is step one of a larger project will add over 200 professional learners to the system.
