Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is not seeking re-election in 2026.

She made the announcement on social media on Friday morning.

"Family is everything," Reynolds said. "And through the years, my parents and my husband, Kevin, our daughters and our grandchildren, have stood by my side. And now, it's time for me to be there for them."

Reynolds first served as a State Senator, before being elected as Lieutenant Governor under former Governor Terry Branstad.

She became Governor in 2017, and was elected to two full terms.
