The "Mutual Of Omaha" headquarters building that is under construction in downtown Omaha is becoming more and more visible from around the Metro as it claims its spot on the Omaha skyline, changing it forever.
The KFAB "Grow Omaha" crew earlier reported the beginning of installation of exterior glass panels on the east side of the structure.
They point out most of the 44-story building will be clad in a glass curtain wall.
Right now, the most visible signs are the massive concrete core growing taller, with a construction crane rising above that.
The building will be 677 feet tall with 800,000 sq. ft. of floor space.
It will be the tallest building in the region, including Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas, when finished.
Some perspective on the Brad Willams photo accompanying this story: It was taken at 72nd and W. Center, with Holy Cross Catholic Church and School in the foreground.
Holy Cross is at 48th and Woolworth Avenue.
