(Nebraska) -- Drought conditions are dramatically worse this year than last year at the same time in Nebraska.
The new US Drought Monitor shows nearly 99-percent of the state is dry or in some form of drought. A year ago, that was 28-percent.
The worst drought conditions are in Northwest Nebraska. Eastern Nebraska is much better off than it was two years ago, when it was in severe and extreme drought. In this weeks Drought Monitor Eastern Nebraska has dry conditions but no drought.
