(West Des Moines, IA) -- Hy-Vee says it will be offering free biometric screening at several stores across Nebraska for the month of February. The effort comes during American Heart Month, and uses a combination of measurements and readings to help detect chronic illness, such as heart disease, hypertension, or diabetes. Store dieticians will also collect a blood sample from a finger stick to determining cholesterol and glucose levels. Hy-Vee says the entire process will take about 15-20 minutes.
Up to 1,500 free screenings will take place across eight Midwest states.
