A 16 year-old is in custody and facing charges after the Nebraska State Patrol says a trooper clocked him driving over 160 miles per hour.
Police say they originally saw the Chevy Corvette going over 130 miles an hour within the city limits in Kearney before speeding up on I-80.
Investigators say the pursuit lasted 10 minutes, but spanned 20 miles.
The Patrol says as the vehicle reached Minden, the driver turned off the vehicle’s lights, pulled onto a side street, and parked.
It was quickly located by a Kearney County Sheriff's Deputy and troopers arrived moments later.
The driver was then taken into custody without further incident.
NSP says the driver, a 16-year-old male from Kearney, was cited for willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, and speeding.
