(South Sioux City, NE) -- A 31-year-old man is charged with headbutting a Nebraska State Patrol trooper during a traffic stop and subsequent arrest near South Sioux City. The NSP says at just about 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, a trooper pulled over a Chevrolet Traverse traveling on U.S. Route 77 for a defective vehicle light. A news release says the trooper then conducted a DUI investigation and found the driver was impaired, and arrested Troy Reynolds of Winnebago. NSP says as the arrest was underway, the suspect driver struck the trooper by headbutting him in the face.

Reynolds was later taken to the Dakota County Jail and faces charges, including assault on an officer, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and driving with a revoked license.
