Nebraska Drought Picture Improves Slightly

(Lincoln, NE) -- Nearly all of Nebraska (94%) remains in drought or severe drought. This week's U.S. Drought Monitor does show a reduction in severe drought, from 70% last week to 47% this week.

Eastern Nebraska, including the Omaha-Council Bluffs region remains in moderate drought.

The National Weather Service in Valley, NE is predicting warmer temperatures this weekend ahead of a cold front, due to arrive Sunday. Cooler conditions are expected early next week in the wake of the frontal passage. No rain is expected in the near-term forecast.
