Nebraska Utility Crews Stage For Hurricane Milton

(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) crews are wrapping up their efforts in West Virginia and Virginia. OPPD crews worked with Appalachian Power to restore outages caused by Hurricane Helene. The Nebraska crews were released today (Monday) with a great deal of gratitude.

OPPD says, however, the attention is turning to Florida and Hurricane Milton. Orlando Utilities Commission has already asked if the OPPD team can head their way next. Our mutual aid crew is now on the road, headed their direction to pre-stage ahead of the storm. They plan to stay near Macon, Georgia tonight and drive to Orlando tomorrow. They will remain in a safe location until the storm has passed, and it is safe to begin work.
