Loaded Gun Intercepted At Omaha's City/County Civic Center

(Douglas County, NE) -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says staffers intercepted a loaded handgun today (Thursday), at the entrance of the City/County Civic Center, at 1819 Farnam Street.

The Sheriff's Office says it was found in a purse belonging to Aurora Garcia.

The firearm, a Taurus 9mm G2c handgun, was loaded with a full magazine.

Investigators say Garcia was in the City/County building to visit a city office. She was detained and issued a citation for Carrying Concealed Weapon in a Prohibited Place, a Class III Misdemeanor.
