Omaha/Council Bluffs Area Weather Could Turn Severe

The National Weather Service Office in Valley says a line of strong to severe storms is expected to move into eastern Nebraska Monday evening with damaging winds, hail, tornadoes, and flooding rainfall all possible threats.

The threat could extend into west-central Iowa before fading late Monday night into Tuesday.

Forecasters say there's still a small chance more isolated, intense storms could develop earlier Monday evening and, if that happens, a greater tornado risk would exist.

Storms are also in the forecast for Tuesday afternoon and evening with all hazards a possibility.

There's still some uncertainty on how far north the severe weather threat will travel,

The weather service also says Missouri River levels are slowly falling from Decatur to Nebraska City, however, water levels are still rising at Brownville and Rulo.
