Omaha Police Investigate Pair of Weekend Homicides

(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Police are investigating two different homicides this weekend. A 59-year-old man, identified Saturday as Bernard L. Leonard, was found unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound near a downed motorcycle in the area of 9th & Carter Blvd at just before 8 p.m. Friday.

Early Saturday morning, police were called to 4541 Charles Street, and found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The male victim was transported by the Omaha Fire Department to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Identification is being withheld pending family notification.
