Blaze South of Council Bluffs Blows Smoke into Omaha

Amidst dry conditions and strong winds, a grassy area south of Council Bluffs caught fire on Saturday. The smoldering blaze sent smoke across the metro during the afternoon. First responders had the fire under control within a short amount of time. No word on any injuries.

At least one county near the Omaha metro, Harrison County, Iowa, is under a burn ban according to the Iowa State Fire Marshal. Red flag warnings and wind advisories were in place from the National Weather Service on Saturday.
