More Info In Omaha Officer-Involved Shooting

Omaha Police identify the two officers who were involved in a deadly officer-involved shooting over the weekend.

Police say Captain Jay Leavitt and Officer Robert Soldo were working off-duty early Saturday near 32nd and "L" Streets when a disturbance with a gun took place in an alley.

Investigators say during the incident, the officers shot and wounded 26-year-old Fernando Rodriguez-Juarez and 28-year-old Jonathan Hernandez-Rosales.

The two men died later at a hospital.

Both officers are on paid administrative leave, which is standard operating procedure, and the incident is under investigation.

Leavitt has been with the O-P-D for over 25 years.

Soldo has been an Omaha Police Officer for eight-and-a-half years.

Interviews of the officers are planned for Tuesday.
