(Omaha, NE) -- Two men have been positively identified after an early morning shootout that involved two off-duty Omaha Police officers at an alleyway near 32nd and L Streets, behind Anytime Laundry, in a disturbance that according to Omaha Police involved a firearm.

Omaha Police say Fernando Rodriguez-Juarez, 26, and Jonathan Hernandez-Rosales, 28 were hit by officers' gunfire early Saturday and were taken to Nebraska Medicine where they later died. A handgun was found inside the SUV. The officers involved were not injured and have been placed on paid administrative leave per department policy.

A statement from the Omaha Police Department says body camera footage is limited due to the officers being off-duty at the time, and that the involved officers will interview early this upcoming week as part of the investigation.
