(Bennington, NE) -- Multiple local fire departments are called in to help put out a Bennington house fire.
Around 2:15 Friday afternoon, the first crews were called to the home near 172nd and Ida, north of Flanagan Lake. Firefighters report that thick, black smoke could be seen from miles away. Witnesses and fire crews could hear explosions coming from the home, which investigators say were probably propane tanks. Fire crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to any neighboring homes and no injuries were reported.
Fire crews from Omaha, Bennington, Irvington and Boys Town assisted in putting the fire out. The cause remains under investigation.
