(Lincoln, NE) -- A second arrest is made in the death of a Lincoln baby.
Lincoln Police say on Tuesday morning, 30 year old Brittany Cook was arrested for Child Abuse Resulting in Death in connection with a child abuse investigation that resulted in the death of a 22-month-old child. Investigators say Cook is the mother of the deceased child. Cook's boyfriend, 32 year old Joshua Tackett, was arrested on March 14th and is also facing a charge of Child Abuse Resulting in Death. Tackett is not the child's father.
LPD says on Sunday March 12, officers were called to St. Elizabeth Hospital on the report of a 22-month-old child being seen for injuries consistent with abuse. Investigators say the child was found to have obvious signs of injury and transported to Children’s Hospital in Omaha for a higher level of care. The child died from his injuries on March 17th.
