(Oxford, NE) -- Federal investigators are looking into what destroyed a communications tower in Furnas County, Nebraska.
The sheriff's office says a Strayer Communications tower south of Oxford, Nebraska was toppled and destroyed last Saturday. Investigators say it appears someone intentionally damaged it. Damage to the tower is estimated at more than $500,000. Oxford Fire and EMS, Southern Valley Schools, Verizon Wireless and the Sheriff’s Office all utilized the tower and had equipment on it that was also destroyed.
The FBI and Nebraska State Patrol have been called in to investigate.
