Bellevue Police identify teen killed in Tuesday morning crash

(Bellevue, NE) -- Bellevue Police identify the teen killed in a Tuesday crash on Highway 370.

Bellevue Police say just after 4:00 Tuesday morning, emergency crews were called to the McDonalds near 36th and Highway 370 for a man found unconscious in the parking lot. Police say arriving officers located a heavily damaged vehicle on the north shoulder of Highway 370, west of 36th Street. First responders performed emergency life-saving measures on the unconscious man, identified at 19 year old Brian Jose Garcia of Omaha, but he was determined to be deceased.

Upon investigating further, BPD says officers determined that prior to the crash, the vehicle had been eastbound on Highway 370, when it crossed the center median, westbound lanes, rolled through the grass and came to rest north of the shoulder on Highway 370. Police believe Garcia was the passenger in the vehicle. They say the driver, 20-year-old Jasmyne Murrillo, was taken to Nebraska Medicine with non-life-threatening injuries.

BPD says there are currently no indications that impairment from drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. No citations have been issued, pending further investigation.
