VFW Mission: Paint The Tank!

VFW Post 10785 invites local veterans to join in the repainting of the tank at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home in Bellevue on Sept. 8th and 10th at 9 a.m. both days .

The tank will get power-washed on the 8th and painted on the 10th.

For years, the Veterans Home has displayed an M60 Main Battle Tank used to train tank crews.

It’s also known as a "Slick 60" since it’s the basic model of the series.

The tank is equipped with a 105 mm cannon and is a descendant of the earlier M48 Patton Tank.

Over 15,000 M60 tank models were produced.

After being taken out of active service, the tank stands guard over the home of veterans who served in America’s uniformed military.

The Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home is at 12505 Harrison Tull Drive, Bellevue, near 40th and Capehart Road.
