Two Omaha teens arrested in connection to 2021 murder

(Omaha, NE) -- Two teens are arrested in connection to a 2021 murder.

Omaha Police say their Homicide Unit made two additional arrests in connection to the June 16th, 2021 shooting death of Timothy Washington III near 39th and Ames. Police say after consulting with the Douglas County Attorney's Office, 16-year-old Mariano Flores and 16-year-old Quan White are both being charged with 1st-degree murder, 1st-degree assault, shooting at an occupied dwelling/vehicle, and three counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Police previously arrested 15-year-old Nowa Kawunda for Washington's murder. Charges were also filed against Kawunda for the non-fatal shooting of Mack Johnson and a robbery from 2021. Kawunda was charged with 1st-degree murder, 1st-degree assault, robbery, two counts of shooting at an occupied dwelling/vehicle, and five counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony.
