(Omaha, NE) -- An Omaha fire fighter dies while on vacation with his family.
The Omaha Fire Department and the Omaha Firefighters Union say Fire Apparatus Engineer Don Sweazy suffered a "tragic event while vacationing with his family," but did not give any further details. FAE Sweazy was born on May 26, 1962 and joined the Omaha Fire Department in April of 2006, having served the department for 16 years. He was promoted to Fire Apparatus Engineer in April of 2013 and has been assigned to E56A since June of 2016.
"The Omaha Fire Department and the Omaha Firefighters Union, Local 385 offer our condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his wife and family at this time."
Funeral arrangements are pending.
